The person behind the practice.
Nicole Mendez has been a licensed massage therapist since 2011, and if you ask her what she loves most about her work, the answer is immediate: the moment a client gets off the table and says they can feel the difference.
It is that gratification, knowing she helped someone feel physically better, sometimes without them even realizing how much they needed it. This is what has kept Nicole in this work for over 15 years. It is what drove her to specialize. To keep learning. To open Flutter & Flow.
Nicole's Story
Nicole's path to massage therapy was not a straight line. She started college pursuing counseling and social work, drawn to helping people but searching for the right way. When the emotional weight of clinical work felt like too much, she found something unexpected in a single introductory massage class at Trocaire College.
"I took one class and I just knew. I was good at it, I liked it, and I got to work one-on-one with people, helping them feel better, in a way that I could actually handle." She graduated with her AAS from Trocaire and never looked back.
What Nicole discovered over time is that massage creates space for more than physical relief. Clients sometimes arrive tense, distracted, or carrying more than muscle soreness. She has learned to read a room, to create safety, and to meet clients exactly where they are. She has had clients leave sessions laughing, or crying, or simply saying: I feel like myself again.
"This is still creating a safe space for my clients. Sometimes people just need to let it out before their body can physically relax." That understanding, that emotional and physical tension are connected, informs every session Nicole delivers.
You can expect the same when you walk through her door.
What Nicole Values
Nicole is warm and direct. She will check in about pressure because she actually wants to know. She will remember what was bothering you last time. She is not trying to upsell you or rush you out. She is trying to help.
Outside the treatment room, Nicole is an avid reader, a loud supporter of local restaurants and small businesses, and someone who measures success by how her clients feel when they leave.
